Spring Texas is located 20 miles north of Downtown. This was home of the Orcoquiza Native Americans. In the 1840s a trading post placed in the area attracted settlers and immigrants from the South. Further, the building of the international Northern Railroad in 1871 led this area to expand. Today, Spring Texas is found on the small old town district, the North Harris County, and the southern Montgomery County.

Enjoy nature at George Mitchell national reserve

This preserved reserve is found in the woodlands village of Indian Springs. The reserve has three miles of single bike trails and a wider two-mile trail loop. If you are lucky to have a bike, you will enjoy the rides on the nice quite natural reserve. Additionally, you can take your dog or pet for a walk as you enjoy the breeze and fresh air away from the city life. The shade from the trees will protect you from the sunny heat as you walk on a hot sunny day. The scenery is also unique and interesting.

Catch Catfish at Pundt Park

This park is part of the spring creek greenway. The 380-acre park has a dog park, playground, primitive canoe launch, picnic loop with tables and pavilions, restrooms, bicycle racks, multi-use trails, and two lakes where you can catch some fish. You can fish in the ponds and at the banks of spring creek within the spark. If you visit in winter or early spring, you are assured of catching crappie or white bass. Any other time of the year you are sure to catch some catfish. Keep your family busy on the enclosed playground. The scenery is beautiful and if you enjoy running or jogging, you can do it here.

This park is located along Cypress creek in Spring. It is a 55-acre park with various sports facilities, nature trails, and fishing locations. Pick fresh strawberries at Atkinson farm

Some of the best tasting strawberries and other grown produce in Spring Texas are produced at Atkinson farm. The farm has more than 60 varieties of fresh farm produce from tomatoes, onions, carrots, peas, okra, and leafy vegetables among others. If you are around Spring there will be plenty of strawberries and you get to pick your own.
